Subfamily Masarinae (Pollen Wasps)

The subfamily includes five genera in the New World, four of which are restricted to South America, and one occurs in the Nearctic region (Carpenter 2001).

Pseudomasaris Ashmead

This genus includes 15 species and is restricted to the western Nearctic region (Carpenter 2001). Three species occur in Canada (P. vespoides (Cresson) is recorded for the first time: 1 ♂, 2 ♀♀, AB, Waterton; 1 ♂, BC, Chilcotin; all CNCI); a fourth species has been collected once in southern Ontario.
