Distribution & Biology
Clusiodes caestus
is an uncommon but widespread North American species with a patchy distribution that is likely a collecting artifact. It normally occurs in relatively cool habitats, like most other Clusiodes, and is found at higher altitudes in more southern localities.

Specimens have been collected on aspen in Ontario, New Mexico and Utah, and the holotype male was collected off a dry cedar bush in Ontario. Adults of this species have also been found near flood plains, running water, and on islands.
